Bring It- November 27th

These guys didn't seem to enjoy each others company among the many female Big Horns. It is quite a sight to see these tough creatures up close and personal. I wouldn't want to get on their bad side.

Rocky Basin- November 26th

An interesting rock formation stood out against the mountains here at Sunlight Basin. Wyoming is such a diverse collection of formations and nature.

Dark Mountains- November 25th

A very stormy day surrounds the Rockies.

Sunset at the Reservoir- November 23rd

Another beautiful sunset at the lake. My mother came to visit and we had a great time viewing sites like these!

Windy Wyoming- November 22nd

A very windy day shook up the snow on the mountains near Montana today.

Wyoming Factory- November 21st

The lime factory lit up at night contrasting nicely with the blue night sky.

Look Up- November 20th

As I was laying on the floor I noticed an interesting composition and snapped it up!

Barbed Fence- November 19th

A shot of a fence out in the middle of nowhere.

Winter Walk- November 18th

As a snow storm blanketed Powell, Wyoming I headed to the streets covering my camera in a zip-lock bag and took a couple of photos.

Rugged Road- November 17th

I chose to drive north of town on Highway 295 to see where it took me. I drove up on top of the bench, down through a canyon and entered into Montana. I then continued driving as the road became gravel and deteriorated quickly. I started to doubt my car's capabilities as the road got worse and worse but the view became more and more beautiful so I chose to push through. Needless to say at the end of the day I had driven 3 hours for 5 minutes of shooting before the clouds completely covered the mountains. This area really is one of the most remote yet most beautiful places in the lower 48 States.

Cellular- November 16th

A simple overexposed shot of a phone and wallet.

Victory- November 15th

As I was deciding what I should do for the day I picked up a football and started spinning it on my bedroom floor. I decided it was a good thing to photograph so I threw my camera on the floor, set up a desk lamp and took a couple shots. This is the result.

Hats Off- November 14th

Just a hat enjoy a nice day. He doesn't get worn enough anymore but he has seen some cool things in his day. Maybe one day he will rejoin all the other hats out there on peoples heads!

Over Manipulation- November 13th

This is a very manipulated image of a water drop falling from the sky. Hope you all enjoy it!

Church Birds- November 12th

Today was just a day of walking around taking pictures of anything and everything. I shot this photo and thought nothing of it. Wasn't very fond of it, but for some reason the more I look at it the more it grows on me so I decided I would post it as today's photo. I hope you all enjoy it a little, or at least it gives you something interesting to look at for a little bit.

Splish Splash- November 11th

I apologize for shooting the same thing two days in a row but I am just having way to much fun.

Don't Drink the Cool-Aid- November 10th

After watching a couple tutorials I thought I would try my hand at splash photography. This is just a beginning point, and I realize it has been shot to death but I am excited where I can push it.

102- November 9th

Just a lonely door on a cold night.

Moonlight Basin- November 7th

What an awesome night. I took my roommate out to sunlight basin where we shot this view of the mountains illuminated by the moon. The wind was howling loud enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck that weren't already stood up by the frigid cold reach for the sky. Not only that but a small herd of deer crossed the road about 50 feet in front of us while we were shooting and stopped long enough to check us out. This is what Wyoming and the outdoors is about.

Night Light- November 6th

As I was driving back home from the Devils tower area through the Big Horn Mountains, I stopped in the mountains to shoot this photo. I had a spot light in my trunk that I used to illuminate the rocks, and I waited for nearly 10 minutes for a car to drive by. This winter is going to be a lot of fun for nighttime landscapes.

Severe Weather- November 5th

Johnny and I did a little bit of light painting out near devils tower this weekend. Here you can see Johnny himself holding a hoop of light. Pretty cool stuff.

Macro Music- November 4th

That's right its the male part to the headphone jack. And some sweet carpet to boot.

Mr. Niblets- November 3rd

I was fortunate enough to have access to a Macro (Micro in Nikon Terms) lens here at school and use it to photograph the small rabbit stuck to Xia's laptop. I am truly addicted to this lens.

Night Ride- November 2nd

A night shot of the Caddy.

Stack-o-Lens- November 1st

A look at a couple of my fathers old lenses. A 28 and 50mm. I am really starting to enjoy shooting in full manual mode with no light meter with these lenses. A sense of nostalgia and pride comes over me whenever I take a photo with these pieces of classic Nikon glass.

Window Display- October 31st

While out among the trick or treaters, this window display caught my attention.

Point to the Heavens- October 30th

One of the many churches in the world. Great light was the factor in the photograph.

Five of Spades- October 29th

Here is a taste of what we do in the depths of Powell, Wyoming.

Rocky Situation- October 28th

A little look at some of the rock formations here in Wyoming. It is amazing how earth can be pushed up from the ground at such a steep angle.

Milky Way- October 27th

Here is a look at my first attempt shooting the milky way. I learned a lot tonight and I can't wait to get out and improve on this first attempt. This is a look at part of the milky way but the most beautiful part (the southern part) is on the opposite side of the earth this time of year. I plan on perfecting the art of star photography by the time the earth tilts giving me the shots I want. I also can't wait to someday own a fast wide angle lens to capture more exciting shots. Either way it is exciting to see only a few stars, take a photo and discover thousands more that are to dim for the naked eye. Fun stuff!

Movie House- October 26th

Interesting house. I like the way an old worn out fence meets up with a new fancy fence and there is a vibrant tree contrasting with a dull tree. Weird stuff.

Happy Halloween- October 25th

This week some friends of mine and I had the pleasure of carving pumpkins. I took my pumpkin with the help of some Photoshop to wish you all a happy, terrifying Halloween!

Futurama- October 24th

As you can see I am sitting on my invisible chair watching Futurama.

These Boots- October 23rd

This here is an overexposed head on shot with my boots. If your not careful you might take one in the rear end.

Fenced In- October 22nd

A large gorilla was sitting behind this fence but every time I tried to photograph him he would hide behind a large Oak tree. I finally gave up and snapped this photo of the fence. Actually there was not a gorilla, there is just no good story behind the photo.

Hey Donkey- October 21st

As I was walking on the outskirts of town I made an acquaintance with this fella. I was just told that this is not a Donkey but a Mule. Sorry fella.

Fall Scape - October 20th

There certainly isn't as many trees in Wyoming as there are in Iowa, but the colors in the fall are still amazing. What a great time of year to be outside experiencing all the beauty this world has to offer. If everyone could just take a little time in their busy days to step outside and see things like this the world would be much better off and the market for depression medication would take a huge hit.

Shot List

Photo and a movie anyone?
